Report: Verratti Could be Available to Face Bayern Munich in the Champions League Return Fixture

Marco Verratti missed Paris Saint-Germain’s recent UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg fixture against Bayern Munich due to a positive coronavirus test. With the Italian midfielder in self-isolation, PSG went with Danilo Pereira to lead the team’s midfield in the match.

Verratti is currently still in quarantine but could come off of his self-isolation period in the coming days. As noted by Le Parisien, Verratti could be eligible to come off from his ongoing quarantine period on either Sunday or Monday.

The PSG midfielder is still slated to miss the side’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Strasbourg.

Overall, PSG could be faced with a game-day decision on Verratti’s availability for the second leg against Bayern Munich. If the midfielder finishes up his self-isolation period on Sunday, he would only have two days to train ahead of the return match. PSG could always go on to include the Italian midfielder in its squad list for the Bayern match and elect to provide him with playing minutes off the bench.

PSG currently holds a narrow 3-2 tie lead over Bayern.
