Paris Saint-Germain has now pulled within a mere one point of current Ligue 1 leaders Lille OSC in the league table. With five matches remaining in the ongoing season, the Ligue 1 title race remains completely wide open considering that AS Monaco and Olympique Lyonnais are also within distance of Lille.
While Lille faces off against Lyon on matchday 34, PSG will be taking on FC Metz.
As noted by Onze Mondial, PSG could field a prominent starting 11 considering that it will be getting back multiple key players from either suspension or injury.
Navas; Florenzi, Danilo, Kimpembe, Kurzawa; Gueye, Paredes; Di Maria, Neymar, Mbappe; Icardi
Keylor Navas missed PSG’s last fixture against Angers in the Coupe de France due to a shoulder injury. However, the Costa Rican goalkeeper is expected to be back for this matchup with Metz.
Marquinhos has been officially ruled out from this fixture due to his nagging adductor injury. Thus, Danilo Pereira may go on to earn yet another start in a domestic match as a center-back.
Marco Verratti may likely not be fully fit to return to PSG’s starting 11 for this match. As a result, Leandro Paredes could be tasked with carrying PSG in the midfield against Metz.
Neymar’s Ligue 1 red card suspension is over. Thus, the Brazilian could be expected to start upfront in PSG’s attack along with the likes of in-form Mauro Icardi.
PSG could finish the matchday in first place in the league standings pending Lille’s result with Lyon.
