Julian Draxler is on par to become a free agent at the end of the season where he will have the opportunity to depart from Paris Saint-Germain as a free transfer.
Over the past months, PSG has agreed to contract extension deals with the likes of Juan Bernat and Angel Di Maria. Both players were slated to become free agents at the end of the season but now will remain with the club past the upcoming summer transfer window.
Now, PSG has an aim at also keeping Draxler as L’Equipe notes that club officials have put forth a one-year contract extension deal on the table for the midfielder. The report also adds that Mauricio Pochettino has been a driving force as of late in wanting to keep Draxler at the club.
There is no word yet on whether Draxler aspires to stay on with PSG past the ongoing season, although the report does speculate that he would have some difficulty finding a club that would match the potential salary that PSG could offer.
Draxler is currently in the fifth season of his run with PSG where has won trophies in four different competitions.
