PSG Mercato: Paris SG Looks to Corner Free Transfer Market as They’re Now Following Milan’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo will be looking to corner the free transfer market this summer as the capital club continues to deal with the financial revenue losses due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Brazilian club chief enjoys bringing players from Italy, and there’s one target that he has ties with while he was at AC Milan. According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Paris Fans), PSG is one of the clubs following Hakan Çalhanoğlu, whose contract expires in June.

Çalhanoğlu has been with the Italian side since 2017, where he’s scored 30 goals in 165 total appearances for Milan. As a result, the 27-year-old will be looking for a raise in his next contract.

The Italian media outlet adds that Çalhanoğlu wants an annual salary of €5-million; however, Milan is countering with an offer that’s within the range of €3.5-million to €4-million.

It will be interesting to see whether Çalhanoğlu’s representatives leaked this information to squeeze more money out of Milan or they would consider heading to the French capital next season.
