PSG Mercato: Paris SG Joins Manchester United and Real Madrid in Pursuit of Lazio Midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić

One of the players that Paris Saint-Germain has long had their eyes on to help improve their midfield is Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić. The central midfielder would be a welcome addition to the midfield core of Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, Idrissa Gueye, and Danilo Pereira.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the capital club is again reigniting its interest in the 26-year-old. With Lazio on the outside looking in of a top-four finish in Serie A, the Italian side could be more open to cash in on the player.

Suppose there’s no UEFA Champions League money coming for the 2021-22 season and dealing with financial revenue losses due to the coronavirus pandemic. In that case, it might cause Lazio to consider selling Milinković-Savić to the highest bidder.

This season marked the first time Milinković-Savić competed in the Champions League. Lazio did play in the qualifying rounds in 2015-16 but didn’t make it to the group stage. Nonetheless, with a taste of Europe’s top football, the 26-year-old might want to play at a club that allows him to experience this competition consistently.

Milinković-Savić is under contract until 2024, and PSG isn’t the only club eyeing the 6’3″ midfielder. Real Madrid and Manchester United are also showing interest in the midfielder.
