PSG Mercato: Paris SG Extends Keylor Navas Until 2024

As the saying goes, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” and it seems as that couldn’t be more true with Paris Saint-Germain and Keylor Navas. Real Madrid pushed the Costa Rica international out the door when they brought in Thibaut Courtois.

The capital club would pounce on Navas and bring him in 2019, and it was then when the French giants solved all their issues in the goalkeeper position.

It took two seasons for PSG to see the 34-year-old remains an elite player and has provided great performances when the fixtures mattered the most.

Against Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, Navas has delivered world-class goalkeeping that the reigning Ligue 1 champions had never seen before.

Now Les Parisiens have locked up Navas long-term as both sides have agreed to a contract extension that would keep the goalkeeper in Paris until 2024, the club announced

“I am very happy to extend Keylor Navas’ contract,” Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, PSG President, said. He is the greatest goalkeeper in the world. He inspires great confidence in the team and our fans love him. He will be a decisive player in the major end-of-season deadlines, and in the years to come.”

In his two seasons as the goalkeeper, Navas has helped the capital reach back-to-back UEFA Champions League Semi-Finals with an eye on heading to a second straight final.
