The Neymar Jr. to FC Barcelona rumor is one that never goes away, like a long-running television show that should’ve ended a few seasons ago.
Nonetheless, the newest information provided by Mundo Deportivo reveals that the Barcelona locker room dreams of Neymar’s return. The Paris Saint-Germain did state his desire to play with his former teammate Lionel Messi last year. Though many assumed the two would team up in the French capital.
Regardless, this dream of seeing the 29-year-old walk through the Camp Nou doors will likely come as a visitor. Various reports have suggested that Neymar will likely extend his contract with PSG.
However, there’s the possibility of the Brazil international’s deal running out and returning to the Spanish side next year. Still, that doesn’t seem likely.
Furthermore, PSG sporting director Leonardo spoke to Sky Sport Italy (via Canal Supporters) where he stated that the French giants would reveal some news that would make them all happy real soon.
The club chief didn’t elaborate on what this means. Still, many can only speculate that Leonardo is talking in code and refers to the ongoing contract extension talks with Neymar and Kylian Mbappé are progressing positively.
Regardless, it seems as though the Barcelona players who dream of Neymar’s return will need to continue dreaming.
