Pochettino Still Remains Confident That Mbappe Will Remain at PSG ‘For a Long Time’

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino continues to share his full confidence that Kylian Mbappe will remain at the club.

As the upcoming summer transfer window nears, rumors continue to mount over Mbappe’s uncertain future at PSG. Unlike teammate Neymar, Mbappe is yet to provide a full declaration over whether he desires to stay at PSG or if he aspires to depart from the club.

Mbappe will become a free agent next year when his current five-year contract deal with the club expires.

Amid this uncertainty, Pochettino still sees that the PSG star will go on to stay at PSG. The Argentine manager touched (via RMC Sport) on Mbappe’s ongoing contract extension dilemma following PSG’s Ligue 1 win against AS Saint-Etienne.

“I am optimistic and as Kylian is the best or one of the best players of Paris-Saint-Germain, I hope he will stay with us for a long time,” Pochettino said.

There has been no indication given as to whether Mbappe will make his final decision regarding his PSG future over the ongoing season or if he plans to wait until the summer transfer window. Still, this could very well play out until the late stages of the transfer window.
