Kylian Mbappe continues to be the most talked-about player in the transfer rumor mill. The French forward will become a free agent next year when his current five-year contract expires. Thus, rumors have continued to circulate on whether Mbappe may be playing in his final matches with PSG.
For PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, he does not want to lose Mbappe. The Argentine has already seen firsthand on what Mbappe offers to PSG, such as with his ability to score key goals in the biggest matches in club football.
Pochettino spoke to Cadena Ser’s show El Larguero where he detailed that PSG is doing what it can to keep Mbappe.
“The club is doing everything possible to keep Neymar and Mbappe,” Pochettino said. “I am equally optimistic that Mbappe will stay. For the club, the priority is that players with the quality of Mbappe and Neymar stay. We do not think of a plan without these players.”
Amid the rumors of Mbappe potentially leaving over the upcoming summer transfer window, Pochettino added that he wants the forward to stay no matter what.
“After sharing three months with him, I will fight with all my strength for him to stay here with us,” Pochettino said. “The club and I will fight for him to be with us.
“The objective is to keep the best players.”
For now, Mbappe will be aiming to help lead PSG to triumph in all competitions this season.
