Paris Saint-Germain will be taking on Manchester City up next in the opening leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal tie. Both teams head into the tie still vying for a possible treble-winning campaign.
PSG just picked up a key Ligue 1 win over Metz, which gave Leandro Paredes an extra boost in confidence ahead of the showdown with Manchester City.
As Paredes detailed to Canal Plus after the match, PSG is well-prepared to take on the current Premier League leaders.
“We are very good,” Paredes said. “We have just made a very good series. We have shown a very good level lately. We hope to recover well to prepare for this game.”
PSG currently stands as the Ligue 1 leader thanks to the win over Metz. However, Lille OSC can regain its first place standing with a win over Olympique Lyonnais. Paredes aspires to see a favorable result from this match that would end up keeping PSG at the top of the table after the ongoing matchday.
“Lille and Lyon are playing each other, so we will wait for the result of this game,” Paredes said. “We hope it will be favorable to us. On our side, we did what we had to do today. Winning was important.”
As mentioned, PSG could still very well finish the campaign as Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Champions League winners.
