Wagner Ribeiro, Neymar’s former agent, believes that Paris Saint-Germain is the only club today that can afford to meet the forward’s contract demands.
Neymar has not been heavily linked with other clubs as of late. He is set to become a free agent next year, but still, no club has been in the rumor mill over the possibility of making a serious push to sign the forward over the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ribeiro worked with Neymar before and knows very well on what the forward looks for in a club. And from afar, Ribeiro sees that the Brazilian is well-pleased with his current run at PSG.
As Ribeiro detailed to L’Equipe, he predicts that Neymar will go on to stay at PSG because of his hefty contract demands and satisfaction with his current standing at the French club.
“He lives in a magnificent city, he has many friends and he is very happy in Paris,” Ribeiro said. “No team in the world can offer you what PSG has to offer. Only PSG can afford Neymar.
“Real Madrid has financial problems. Barca? It is even worse. In Italy? No club can compete. In Paris he makes a very good living and plays for a very good team.”
Ribeiro also touched on Neymar’s Ballon d’Or chances, which could receive a boost with UEFA Champions League and Copa America tournament wins this year.
“This season they [PSG] are going to win the Champions League and Neymar will be the Ballon d’Or, you’ll see,” Ribeiro said.
