Neymar Has Recorded More Champions League Assists Than Messi and Ronaldo Since the 2013-2014 Season

Neymar picked up his first assists of the ongoing UEFA Champions League season during Paris Saint-Germain’s quarterfinal first leg fixture against Bayern Munich. Neymar assisted Kylian Mbappe for his first goal of the match and also Marquinhos for PSG’s overall second goal.

Overall, Neymar has now recorded 25 career Champions League assists since his debut campaign during the 2013-2014 season.

More so, Neymar’s 25 Champions League assists over this time period are more than both Cristiano Ronaldo (23) and Lionel Messi (18).

This feat is an impressive one considering the numerous Champions League fixtures that Neymar has missed over the years due to injury, which includes PSG’s recent round of 16 tie against Barcelona where it clinched a 5-2 aggregate win without him.

Both Ronaldo and Messi have each scored more goals than Neymar over the past seven Champions League seasons. But at the least, Neymar has the edge over these two footballing stars when it comes to being a playmaking talent.
