Marquinhos went in-depth on where he sees Neymar’s mindset is at heading into the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich.
Neymar has taken part in plenty of top matches over his ongoing Paris Saint-Germain run, and now he will feature in yet another challenge against Bayern Munich. The Brazilian has faced off against Bayern multiple times over his career, from the semifinal clash while he was with Barcelona to last season’s Champions League final.
Marquinhos has played alongside Neymar for some of the biggest matches of the forward’s career. As the Brazilian defender told Telefoot (via Le10Sport), he sees a focused Neymar heading into this Bayern clash.
“I know him very well, he likes these matches,” Marquinhos said. “The closer we get to it, the more motivated he is.”
Neymar was PSG’s top player over the group stage portion of this season’s Champions League. Now, he will be relied upon to lead the side against the reigning Bundesliga winners, which is slated to be his biggest test so far this season.
