‘I Was a Bit Sad to Leave’ — Kean Recounts the Departure from Juventus

Paris Saint-Germain forward Moise Kean has reflected on his decision to leave Italian side Juventus.

Kean departed from Juventus for a move to Everton over the 2019 summer transfer window. The transfer move for Kean was bittersweet, as the Italian forward came up through Juventus’ youth ranks and then went on to spend a pair of seasons with the side.

The PSG forward spoke to the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, where he took a look back on his Juventus run.

“To be honest, I was a bit sad to leave,” Kean said. “Juve gave me everything, I grew up there, without the club I wouldn’t be where I am today. But then I understood that that’s the life of a football and I understood. I had to take my own path, become a man, that was the right way. Juve will always remain in my heart.”

Kean did not rule out a possible return to Juventus someday down the road.

“I will enjoy the Champions League semifinals and then we will see,” Kean said.

Kean will return to Everton in the upcoming summer transfer window after his ongoing one-year loan stint at PSG.
