Former Barcelona winger Ludovic Giuly detailed the one grand resemblance that he sees between the careers of Neymar and Ronaldinho.
There are plenty of similarities to see with the footballing careers of Neymar and Ronaldinho. For instance, they each played for both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain coupled with their knack of being stout playmakers.
For Giuly, he does not believe that these such comparisons end there. The former PSG forward also sees some similarities in their approach as footballers. As Giuly detailed to Telefoot, he believes that these two talents are among the best of the past decades, but their mentality has held them back from reaching their true potential.
“I’m going to compare – on a career level – Neymar to Ronaldinho,” Giuly said. “They have everything but they don’t give everything to be even higher. I don’t want to be the best for one or two years, at the level of the Ballon d’Or, no. I want to be the best for 10 years. I want to be the best for 10 years.
“Ronnie has never asked himself this question because it is his nature. And I think Neymar is the same nature.”
Ronaldinho’s career began to trend downward following his departure from Barca. For Neymar, many see that injuries have continued to hold him back from becoming a perennial Ballon d’Or contender. However, many can attest of their world-class prowess when they are healthy and committed.
