AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas provided insight on what makes Kylian Mbappe one of the top goal-scorers today.
Mbappe has enjoyed great success over this season’s UEFA Champions League knockout stage. The French forward is already at six goals scored so far over four knockout stage games this season.
Fabregas already knows very well on Mbappe’s goal-scoring prowess as he has faced the Paris Saint-Germain star in numerous Ligue 1 encounters over the years. For the veteran Monaco midfielder, there are a few aspects of Mbappe’s play that stand out, which he laid out during his talk with the English-based station BT Sport.
“He’s a fantastic player, if I were the president or owner of a big, big club, he would be at the top of the list,” Fabregas said. “He always makes a difference. When he plays for Paris or with the French team, he always has three players on his back.
“If you have other fantastic players on the field like Neymar or Di Maria, it’s for him two or three players on him all the time, it’s difficult. And he needs space because he’s probably the fastest player in the world.”
Neymar and Di Maria have also had prominent success in playing alongside Mbappe. They each have scored key goals in all competitions off of pivotal Mbappe assists. This star-studded PSG trio is certainly among the most lethal in not only French football but in all of Europe today.
