Video: ‘We Have to Think About Our Performance’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses the Tight Race in Ligue 1

It’s been a while since Ligue 1 saw a title race with multiple clubs vying for the top spot. With 11 matchdays left and Lille OSC, Olympique Lyonnais, PSG, and AS Monaco have the opportunity to with French football’s top-flight league. 

Lille leads Ligue 1 at the moment with 59 points and in fourth place Monaco with 55 points. In between are PSG in second place (57 points) and Lyon in third place (56 points). With four points separating first from fourth place, each match matters. 

During his press conference ahead of their match against FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Canal Supporters relayed the comments from capital club manager Mauricio Pochettino, who discussed the tight race the league crown. 

“We have to think about our performance and not that of the other teams. We have eleven matches left in Ligue 1; we are focused on that and, in particular, on the Bordeaux match. Ligue 1, anything can happen this season. You have to be focused and win every game. We have to think about our performance,” Pochettino said. 

“We said last week that we had to win the last 12 matches. If we win the remaining eleven matches, we will be champions. In Ligue 1, everyone can win or can lose against everyone. We saw it during the previous days. The matches between the favorites can be decisive, but this year there are some surprising results.”
