After winning the first-leg 4-1 at the Camp Nou, Paris Saint-Germain will look to close out the tie at home against FC Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Capital club goalkeeper spoke about the match during his press conference, where Canal Supporters relayed his comments. Navas first discussed the mindset that the squad would have heading into the second-leg.
“We are prepared to play these kinds of matches,” Navas said. “We cannot give less than to go. Our team is strong, and we know which opponent we are playing against, and at no time did we say to ourselves that we were superior. You have to respect your opponent; that’s how you win matches.”
Finally, Navas discussed their opponent, Barça, and what they expect from them heading into the matchup at the Parc des Princes.
“For us, it doesn’t change anything; we still have respect for Barça,” Navas said. “We never felt superior to them; respect must be on the same level. I’m happy to play these kinds of matches. It is a privilege that we have, and we must take advantage of it. Playing Barcelona is a great motivation because it’s a great team.”
