Video: ‘Thank God I Was Able to Concentrate and I Stopped It’ – Keylor Navas Discusses Penalty Kick Save on Lionel Messi

Paris Saint-Germain drew 1-1 in their second-leg fixture against FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes. The capital club will advance past the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 for the second consecutive season.

Despite conceding one goal, Les Parisiens could’ve seen more goals to the Spanish side if it weren’t for Keylor Navas’ efforts. The 34-year-old made nine saves, including a penalty kick save on Lionel Messi.

After the match, Navas spoke with RMC Sport, where Canal Supporters relayed his comments on his night, and the save against Messi.

“I am very happy, I thank god. It was a tough and difficult game. We all wanted to play, to have a big game, and to take advantage of the first leg,” Navas said.

“The penalty? It was difficult especially against Messi who shoots penalties very well. Thank God I was able to concentrate and I stopped it. It gives everyone a lot of joy. This penalty is for Sergio Rico and his family who are going through difficult times. He has my full support and I am very happy.”
