Video: Pele Calls on Neymar to Lead Brazil to World Cup Triumph

Brazilian football legend Pele urged Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar to help lead the Brazil national team to triumph in the upcoming World Cup.

Neymar and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior joined Pele in a documentary watch of his new Netflix documentary Pele.

The documentary took a behind-the-scenes look at the career of Pele along with the off-field turmoil that followed him throughout his run as a footballer in Brazil.

During the watch of the recently released documentary, Neymar and Vinicius Junior viewed some highlights of Pele’s performance in the 1958 World Cup. Pele went on to push the two Brazilian stars to bring back the World Cup trophy to Brazil.

“I don’t want to put you all on the spot, but now it’s your time to bring the trophy home,” Pele said.

Pele also reflected on his injury during the 1966 World Cup while Neymar did the same with his notable back injury during the 2014 World Cup.

“You just have to trust God and pray,” Pele said. “God gave me everything.”

“Playing at the World Cup is the dream of any footballer,” Neymar said. “And 2014 was my first one, playing for Brazil. We were doing great, I was playing well. Being injured and unable to help your teammates is the worst feeling you have. It was one of the saddest days of my life.”

Neymar and Brazil will surely be among the favorites in the next edition of football’s biggest tournament.
