Video: ‘It’s an Important Game for Us’ – Mauricio Pochettino on Potential Trap Fixture Against Nantes After Advancing Past Barça

Although Paris Saint-Germain played FC Barcelona to a 1-1 draw in their second-leg fixture, the capital club advanced past the UEFA Champions Round of 16 and into the quarterfinals.

During his press conference with the media, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke about advancing past the Spanish side. Canal Supporters relayed the Argentine tacticians’ words, who made it known that although he’s happy with the result, it’s time to focus on Ligue 1.

“We are delighted with the qualification against FC Barcelona. For 14 years, FC Barcelona had always qualified for the Champions League’s quarterfinals; it’s a big performance for us. But we also saw some not very positive things,” Pochettino said.

“We might not have played fantastically, but we were in control in the second half. We continue to work, and now the team is focused on Nantes. We are looking for perfection, but we must also be delighted with the qualification against Barcelona.”

Furthermore, Pochettino answered whether he believes this fixture against FC Nantes is a trap game for his squad.

“Nantes is a physical team that will make it difficult for us, like Monaco three weeks ago,” Pochettino said. “It’s an important game for us. I won’t say it’s a tricky game because we know the situation. It’s always important to master a game after playing in the European Cup. We know it will be a tough match against an athletic team, and we have to be fresh to win.”
