Video: ‘It Is Not a Relapse’ – Mauricio Pochettino Provides Latest Injury Update on Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain is ready to turn the page after advancing past FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Up next for the capital club is a date with FC Nantes, who’s battling relegation this season. Despite moving into the Champions League quarterfinals, Les Parisiens won’t have it easy as they return to domestic competition.

The French giants are fighting for the Ligue 1 and Champions League spots for next season. PSG currently finds itself in second place, and although points are valuable, Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t want to risk putting in Neymar Jr. if he’s not 100-percent fit.

During his press conference, the Argentine tactician provided an injury update on Neymar, where Canal Supporters relayed his comments.

“There were possibilities for him to play the game against Barcelona, and we tried. But we know it’s challenging to plan a comeback because the progression depends on the player,” Pochettino said.

“It is not a relapse; we are happy with its development. [Neymar] did part of the group training today, and we hope that the progression will continue to have him as quickly as possible with us.”
