Ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against FC Barcelona next week, the club’s coaching staff received positive news regarding its injury report.
Marco Verratti and Angel Di Maria have recovered from their respective injuries and will be available to feature in PSG’s Coupe de France fixture against Brest, the club announced on its official website.
Verratti had missed last two Ligue 1 fixtures due to a right foot injury. The injury was far from serious as the Italian midfielder only needed a couple of weeks off to help recover from it.
On the other hand, Di Maria was ruled out from PSG’s last six fixtures in all competitions due to a thigh injury. PSG remained cautious with his injury progress and now, the Argentine is fully fit and ready to return to the pitch.
Neymar (adductor) and Alessandro Florenzi (adductor) both remain out of action due to their respective injuries.
It will be interesting to see on Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for both Verratti and Di Maria against Brest, whether the Argentine manager aspires to start either of the two or if they will be provided with some playing time minutes off the bench.
