Paris Saint-Germain will be taking on FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal round of the knockout stage.
Both powerhouse clubs have had plenty of history with each other, which includes the Champions League final encounter last season. The match was one in which PSG had multiple goal-scoring chances, but still, Bayern prevailed with a slim one-goal win.
PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes is not shying away from facing the reigning Bundesliga winners this early in the knockout stage. The Argentine midfielder spoke to Telefoot on how PSG will approach this Champions League tie.
“It’s a tough draw,” Paredes said. “But to win the Champions League, you have to beat the best. But we are aware that we can still reach the final. The night after the defeat in the final against Bayern, we talked a lot between us.
“We want to try to win the Champions League. We’re going to fight for that. It would be amazing for the club and the city. ”
PSG will take on Bayern in the first leg of the tie early next month. Ahead of this fixture, PSG will have a critical league match against Lille while Bayern is slated to clash with RB Leipzig. Both teams are expected to be tested before this heavyweight tie.
