‘The Objective Was to Qualify’ Kylian Mbappé on PSG’s Victory Over Stade Brestois

Paris Saint-Germain had a significant Coupe de France fixture before the capital club could begin to think about Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League fixture against FC Barcelona.

Les Parisiens didn’t want to get caught looking ahead, and so they put forth a 3-0 performance in their Coupe de France Round of 32 victory over Stade Brestois 29.

After the match, PSG forward Kylian Mbappé spoke to the microphones of Eurosport (via Canal Supporters) to discuss the win.

“The objective was to qualify against a team which is not easy to play on its ground,” Mbappé said. ” It is a playful team that advocates good football. Congratulations to them. We had the ambition to qualify, to take shelter immediately. This is what we did. Afterward, we indeed suffered a little at the end of the half-time, but we managed to score the second goal, which did us good.”

Now Mbappé and the rest of the PSG squad can focus on their second-leg fixture against FC Barcelona as the French giants try to put away the Spanish side and advance past the Champions League Round of 16.

Mbappé didn’t comment on the fixture during his interview with Eurosport, perhaps making sure that the task was their French cup fixture Stade Brestois. Nonetheless, after scoring two goals, Mbappé is heading into the match at the Parce des Prince in good form.
