Paris Saint-Germain made the difficult decision to rule out Neymar from its UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg fixture against Barcelona.
Neymar has been recovering from an adductor injury over the past weeks. The Brazilian did what he could to accelerate his recovery time as he returned to collective training over the past week.
As noted by RMC Sport, Neymar did not suffer a setback with his injury. Instead, PSG is simply remaining cautious and does not want to take any risks at the moment.
Neymar is reportedly ‘upset’ by PSG’s decision to keep him out against Barca, as noted by TNT Sports Brasil.
Neymar had been keeping a keen focus on possibly being available to face Barca. But overall, the Brazilian respects the decision from PSG’s coaching staff and understands why they elected to come to this conclusion, per the report.
PSG will now look to the upcoming Ligue 1 showdown against Olympique Lyonnais later this month and whether the Brazilian could be fully fit in time for this matchup.
