Arnaud Kalimuendo entered this season with much to prove in Ligue 1.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward prospect agreed to join RC Lens on a season-long loan move. This was going to be his first real opportunity to earn regular playing time over a full Ligue 1 season.
So far, the loan stint has panned out just as well for all parties involved.
For one, Kalimuendo has scored six league goals this season, including one in Lens’ recent fixture against AS Saint-Etienne.
The French talent has also chipped in for one more goal in the Coupe de France tournament.
Overall, as noted by Opta, Kalimuendo’s six league goals this season is more than any other player born in the 21st century within Europe’s top five leagues. This is quite an impressive statistic considering the multitude of other top forward prospects in the continent.
Kalimuendo does now have a golden opportunity at a double-digit goal-scoring league campaign.
