Paris Saint-Germain has reopened a transfer interest in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet CalcioMercato.
PSG is not the only club being linked for Inter’s star midfielder. The likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keeping a close watch on the Inter talent, per the report.
For the moment, PSG is merely being linked with Barella as there have been no reports of the French powerhouse having a serious transfer interest in the Inter midfielder.
Inter does not want its versatile talent to depart from the club. As noted by the report, the current Serie A leaders aim to extend Barella’s current contract deal. Barella still has three more seasons left on his contract after this year, but Inter simply wants to do what it takes to push away any interested clubs in the Italian talent.
Inter is considering offering Barella a contract extension deal that would be worth between €2.5-€4.5 million per year coupled with a promise of handing him the captain’s armband.
Barella’s play this season is why he has garnered the transfer interest of clubs such as PSG. He has totaled for eight goal contributions in 27 appearances in league play so far this season.
