PSG Mercato: Paris SG Eyes Torino FC Defender as the List of Free Transfer Targets Continues to Grow

Paris Saint-Germain won’t be looking to spend big on defense this summer; however, the capital club could be in the market to add some depth behind their usual starters.

The French giants have to balance Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and UEFA Champions League competitions. In league play, PSG has a lot on their plate as clubs in the league challenge them for the Ligue 1 crown.

Also, Mauricio Pochettino’s side goes deep in their domestic cup tournament, and over the last two years, Les Parisiens have advanced to the quarterfinals in the Champions League.

Despite not needing defenders, PSG could look for depth pieces with all the fixtures on their schedule. As a result, Torino Granata reports that the capital club is eyeing Torino FC center-back Nicolas Nkoulou.

PSG likely wants a defender that can slide behind Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe. Abdou Diallo seems to have found a place at left-back and can play central defense. Meanwhile, the future is cloudy for Thilo Kehrer on whether he will remain with PSG for next season.

Nkoulou is familiar with Ligue 1 as he played for Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais before heading to Torino. Furthermore, the 30-year-old’s contract expires in June, and various reports suggest that PSG is targeting players on free transfers due to the coronavirus pandemic affecting their financial revenue.
