PSG Mercato: Paris Linked With a Move for a €40M-Rated Valencia Defender

Paris Saint-Germain just recently came to terms on a contract extension agreement deal with Juan Bernat. The deal was made in an effort to solidify the team’s depth at the left-back position. However, the club may not be done bolstering its depth at this position.

According to ESPN, PSG joins several other clubs in being linked with Valencia left-back Jose Gaya. Among the sides that are also tracking Gaya include Real Madrid and “several Premier League clubs.”

Valencia is currently in an uncertain financial situation. Thus, the side has an aim to garner at least €50 million in player sales to help deal with the ongoing matter, per the report.

Valencia is said to be reluctant to part ways with Gaya but would be open to such a transfer if a club posts a €30-40 million fee.

PSG already has a trio of left-backs on its roster, so it remains to be seen on the extent of the club’s interest in Gaya. If PSG goes on to pursue Gaya, it could signal that the club may be open to offloading one of its three current left-backs.
