PSG Mercato: Manchester City Drops Out of Lionel Messi Pursuit; Paris SG Remains Only Team in Race

In the Lionel Messi sweepstakes, there are only two options for the FC Barcelona superstar, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. These two clubs can afford to pay the 33-year-old’s wages, and there’s a connection with a former manager and teammates.

Messi’s contract expires in June, and although he hasn’t decided on his future, there’s one club that’s ready to drop their interest.

According to Sport, Manchester City is out in the running for Messi as the English club believes that the Argentina international will extend his contract with Barcelona.

As a result, the only team left is the capital club, should they pursue any interest in Messi this summer. If the report is accurate, this leaves Messi with one of two options. Remain with the only club he’s known or venture to the French capital and be reunited with Neymar Jr.

With Manchester City now out of the picture, Messi’s future becomes a bit more clearer as the summer months approach.
