Paris Saint-Germain always seemed like a long shot to land FC Bayern Munich defender David Alaba. The 28-year-old announced that this would be his last season with the Bavarian club and will search for a new challenge as his contract expires in June.

The capital club made its pitch to the Austria international about possibly joining the French giants. Les Parisiens couldn’t give Alaba the prestige of La Liga and Premier League. However, PSG could meet the defender’s financial demands.

Alaba, who will be 29-years-old in June, will look to sign his last significant contract while in his prime. As a result, with PSG offering a lucrative contract, it had them in the running for Alaba.

Nonetheless, it seems as though the Bayern Munich defender has narrowed his search to two clubs. According to German media outlet Sky (via Canal Supporters), Alaba has crossed out heading to Chelsea FC and PSG for next season. Furthermore, it’s down to two La Liga clubs in FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Spanish media outlet ABC reports that Los Blancos are ready to offer €10-million annual salary along with a €20-million signing bonus. As for the capital club, they’ll need to look elsewhere if they want to improve its defense for the 2021-22 season.
