Neymar Available to Face Lyon After Missing Time Due to Injury

The last time that Neymar featured in the match for Paris Saint-Germain was during the Coupe de France fixture against Caen. Neymar ended up leaving the match in the second half due to an adductor injury, which has since kept him out of multiple matches in all competitions.

After a lengthy and cautious wait, Neymar is now available to once again feature for the team. During a pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture against Olympique Lyonnais, Mauricio Pochettino announced that Neymar will be able to play in the match following his recovery from injury.

“Neymar will be in the squad for the trip to Lyon tomorrow, his return is great for us and for him,” Pochettino said. “It’s a plus for us to be able to look to him to help us. But we like to keep our feet on the ground and after almost six weeks without playing, it would be difficult to see him start the match.”

While Neymar will be available to take part in this match, multiple PSG players will not feature against Lyon due to their respective injuries.

The club ruled out Mauro Icardi (left thigh), Pablo Sarabia (right hip) and Thilo Kehrer (adductor) due to injury.

Icardi is dealing with a low-grade muscle tear injury in his left thigh. The Argentine will spend the upcoming March international break recovering from the injury.

For Sarabia, he will be back in training in 10 days as he continues to recover from his slight right hip injury.

Kehrer is not dealing with any serious adductor injury but rather the club is remaining cautious with his recovery time.

PSG aims for a key win in this match on the heels of its Coupe de France victory over Lille OSC.
