‘It’s a Challenge at the Highest Level’ – Bayern Munich Board Member Discusses Drawing PSG in Champions League Quarterfinals

Paris Saint-Germain will have an opportunity for revenge in the next phase of the UEFA Champions League as they take on FC Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals. After exercising demons against FC Barcelona, the capital club will look to do the same against the German giants.

There’s no denying that the Bavarian club is the favorite in the matchup. After all, Bayern Munich has won seven fixtures and hasn’t lost at all in the tournament. Nonetheless, Bayern Munich will respect Les Parisiens as they know the last time they faced each other, it was a one-goal affair in a close Champions League final.

In an interview with their club website, Bayern Munich board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic provided his reaction to drawing the French giants.

“Paris is a very good team. They’re second in their league at the moment, but it’s a challenge at the highest level for us,” Salihamidzic said. “They have a new coach in [Mauricio] Pochettino. He’s a good coach and doing good work. They have top players and in Mbappé a striker who has it all and is very dangerous.”

The capital club is hopeful that a 100-percent Marco Verratti, a much improved Leandro Paredes, Moise Kean, and a new manager in Mauricio Pochettino tilt the matchup in their favor this time around.
