Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler has not completely ruled out a possible return to the Bundesliga.
Draxler spent a combined eight seasons in the Bundesliga with both Schalke 04 and VfL Wolfsburg. The German midfielder played in the UEFA Champions League competition with both clubs as well before he agreed to move on to PSG in 2016.
Now, Draxler’s future with PSG is up in the air. The German is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Draxler and PSG had plenty of time over the past year to come to a contract extension agreement, but still, no such deal has been reached.
Draxler recently revealed (via Sport Bild) about undisclosed conversations that are going on regarding his future and more so, a Bundesliga return is not out of the question.
“At the moment there are a lot of conversations going on and we’ll see what happens,” Draxler said. “I feel a bit homesick, but I haven’t made up my mind yet.”
Last year, Draxler was linked with Bundesliga clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen. But in the end, Draxler stayed put past the recent summer and winter transfer windows.
Draxler is expected to have plenty of options regarding where he will be playing club football at next season.
