‘He’s the Best of All Right Now’ – Alessandro Florenzi Discusses Keylor Navas Form After French Cup Win Over Lille

After falling 2-1 to FC Nantes this past weekend, Paris Saint-Germain focused on their Coupe de France responsibilities as they welcomed Lille OSC to the Parc des Princes.

The capital club struck for two goals in the first half, courtesy of a Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé would score one more goal as the French giants would come away with a 3-0 win over Lille.

Following the win, Alessandro Florenzi spoke to France 2 (via Canal Supporters); the 30-year-old touched on the victory as Les Parisiens bounced back after a rough past weekend and into the win column.

“A deserved qualification, we had a good game, and we played well. It wasn’t perfect because there is no perfect match. There are things to improve, but we are happy to win this game,” Florenzi said.

“Navas, the strongest of this team? For me, he’s showing on the pitch that he’s the best of all right now. We hope he will continue like this throughout the season. We too have to stay focused in every game and win as many games as possible.”

Florenzi came on in the second half as a substitute for Colin Dagba and played 45 minutes. The Italy international had two clearances and two interceptions on the defensive side. When it came to passing, Florenzi went 11 for 17 with a 65-percent completion rate.

PSG will look to carry this momentum into their heavyweight fixture as they take on Olympique Lyonnais this summer.
