Former German and Premier League goalkeeper Jens Lehmann made his case on who he would choose between Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
Many project that Mbappe and Haaland are set to become the next faces of world football. They have already showcased their world-class potential, especially in the UEFA Champions League.
As one recent stat noted, Mbappe and Haaland have combined for more goals scored in the last two Champions League seasons than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
From the Messi and Ronaldo debates to now the Mbappe and Haaland arguments, Lehmann has a favorite in the latter. As he told the Spanish-based outlet Marca, Lehmann lauds both star talents, but he has his preference to who he would hypothetically like to have on his team.
“I think the two players are really unique,” Lehmann said. “Mbappe combines technique with athleticism, whilst Haaland combines technique with size.
“I haven’t seen or played against a player like Haaland in my career; he would scare me more than Mbappe, his physique doesn’t intimidate me, but we’re talking about two incredible players.”
Expect Mbappe and Haaland to continue to wow with their goal-scoring expertise over the remainder of this season, especially in Champions League play.
