Di Maria Left PSG’s Fixture Against Nantes Due to a ‘Personal Concern’

Angel Di Maria was subbed off during Paris Saint-Germain’s fixture against Nantes mere minutes after the reigning Ligue 1 champions allowed the game-tying goal.

Di Maria did not look to have suffered an injury, or did it seem as if Mauricio Pochettino aimed to alter the team’s tactical setup. Instead, as noted by RMC Sport‘s Loic Tanzi, the Argentine left the fixture due to a personal concern.

Di Maria did not spend any time on the bench after being subbed off the pitch but rather ‘quickly’ went into the locker room and subsequently went on to leave the Parc des Princes.

This may provide reasoning as to why cameras often showed both Pochettino and PSG sporting director Leonardo in discussions during the second half of the match.

The PSG playmaker finished the match completing 24 passes, creating two goal-scoring chances and winning four ground duels.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Di Maria during this time.

UPDATE: As noted by RMC Sport, Di Maria’s home was robbed during PSG’s fixture against Nantes. The Argentine’s family was present at the time of the home burglary. This incident was noted to be an ‘extremely violent’ one.

The home of Marquinhos’ parents was also burglarized today. RMC Sport notes that this home robbery was also a violent incident.
