Bielsa Says PSG’s Champions League Win Over Barcelona Proves That Pochettino is a Top Manager

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa lauded Mauricio Pochettino for his recent success so far as Paris Saint-Germain’s new manager.

Pochettino is just in his third month as the manager of PSG. So far, the French powerhouse has had one roller-coaster run under the Argentine manager. PSG has picked up wins against the likes of FC Barcelona and Olympique de Marseille but still remains outside the top spot in the Ligue 1 standings.

Overall, Bielsa sees Pochettino is well deserving of his success so far with the reigning Ligue 1 champions. The Leeds manager spoke further to Canal Football Club about Pochettino.

“Mauricio [Pochettino] is a reference in world football, he had to adapt immediately and he won a very great game against Barcelona,” Pochettino said. “This is proof of Mauricio’s abilities and his great influence.

“I have a lot of affection for him, gratitude. Coaches, we are who we are thanks to the players we have coached and who have helped us win, they fuel our prestige. Now Mauricio is at the top and he deserves it.”

PSG is currently in the stretch run of its ongoing campaign in all competitions. Pochettino will be aiming to not only lead PSG to a Champions League tie win over Barcelona, but he also has a focus on guiding his side to key victories over Ligue 1 title-contenders Lille OSC and Olympique Lyonnais.
