Video: ‘We Were Focused on This Match Only’ – Mauricio Pochettino Discusses PSG’s 2-0 Victory Over OM

Paris Saint-Germain is again trying to re-establish its grip on Le Classique after picking up a 2-0 win over Olympique de Marseille. The capital club lost for the first time in nearly a decade to OM but have won the last two matchups to let them know who’s in control of the rivalry.

After the victory, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media in his post-game press conference. Canal Supporters relayed the Argentine tactician’s comments concerning his squad’s performance against Marseille.

“After a month together, it’s important to win these kinds of matches. There are still phases on which we must progress. We were focused on this match only. We don’t think about preparing for the next game. Marseille has its strengths, its qualities. We have to think of ourselves, to be strong and not to prepare for a game in a few weeks,” Pochettino said.

“A real desire to play with a low block? We must be able to play in different registers of play. We scored quite quickly, and then we checked. Sometimes the block was a little higher, sometimes a little lower. We had a few situations, but we controlled the ball.”
