Paris Saint-Germain will return to Ligue 1 action after their dominating victory in their first-leg fixture over FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. The capital club finds itself in a fight for the French football’s top crow, with Lille OSC and Olympique Lyonnais vying for that position too.
Furthermore, AS Monaco isn’t so far behind in the standings that they’re are a viable threat. Ahead of the match against Monaco, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media. Canal Supporters relayed his words over the squad not relaxing even after a significant win against Barça.
“Not necessarily. PSG must win every match, we are aware of the responsibility,” Pochettino said. “If we say to ourselves that it can give us serenity, subconsciously that would be a mistake. We must not give way to relaxation. We have to go there to win every match, we have to respect the opponent, the competition and the football. You have to play every game with the intensity you need to win it.”
