FC Barcelona got off to a good start against Paris Saint-Germain after the Spanish side converted a penalty kick to go up 1-0 over the capital club.

However, it was all downhill from there for Barça, who surrendered four straight goals in the 4-1 loss. Kylian Mbappé would score a hat-trick to help a Neymar-less PSG squad pick up a favorable result in the first-leg.

After the match, Barça manager Ronald Koeman spoke to the media, where Canal Supporters relayed his words as he discussed what went work for them.

“They were superior; they were very efficient, especially thanks to Mbappé. The first half was balanced. At 1-0, Ousmane had a great opportunity. In the second part of the match, we had defense problems. They showed that they were superior, with the ball and especially physically,” Koeman said.

“They had a more complete team than ours. We have to accept it and keep improving. We know it can happen. This team is ahead of us. Losing 1-4 is very difficult. There are very few possibilities to return. We are missing things to be at the best level, especially in the Champions League.”
