Video: ‘They Explained to Me a Lot What This Match Represented’ – Alessandro Florenzi on Participating in the Rivarly Between PSG and OM

This season marks the first time that Alessandro Florenzi experiences Le Classique. Nonetheless, the 29-year-old right-back is familiar with high stakes derbies as for years Florenzi took part in the Derby della Capitale while at AS Roma.

Having taken part in two Le Classique fixtures, the Paris Saint-Germain defender commented on which Olympique de Marseille squad will show up during his press conference where Canal Supporters relayed his words. OM defeated the capital club earlier in the season, but then Les Parisiens picked up a win over their rival in the Trophée des Champions.

“It will be a tough match, as always, it’s a Clasico. We want to win this match for what it represents and for the supporters of Paris. They will play 100-percent against us. We have to confirm every day that we are the best team,” Florenzi said.

“We have to play a great game tomorrow. We have to win. Are the matches against OM different? Yes, it’s a special match for PSG supporters. We’re focused on winning tomorrow, and we’re going to have a good game.”

Finally, on the subject of Le Classique, Florenzi touched on the rivalry overall between PSG and OM.

“The players told me about this game, which is a special game for everyone here,” Florenzi said. “I feel that the players are very motivated by the idea of playing this match. They explained to me a lot what this match represented. There was the first leg, then the Champions Trophy, now it’s the return leg, we hope to play a big game and win.”
