Video: Mbappé Blasts Penalty Past Dijon Keeper to Put PSG Up 2-0

Paris Saint-Germain supporters breathed a sigh of relief as Kylian Mbappé stepped up in the 32nd minute and scored a penalty to put the capital club up 2-0 over Dijon FCO (first goal scored by Moise Kean) at the Stade Gaston Gérard.

The penalty was won after Rafinha made a run towards the Dijon goal and attempted to find Kylian Mbappé in the box. The Frenchman played an excellent dummy and allowed the ball to run across to Thilo Kehrer who ran up and blasted a shot on target. Fortunately, the shot deflected off of a Dijon defender’s arm, and a penalty was awarded.

With Neymar Jr. out injured, Mbappé took over penalty duties and finished with precision to record his 17 Ligue 1 goal of the season.

The goal is vital given PSG’s current standing in Ligue 1. Sitting in third place behind Olympique Lyonnais and Lille OSC, PSG’s margin for error is razor-thin and from here on out, Mauricio Pochettino’s squad must pick up three points in nearly all of the remaining matches if they hope to retain the title.
