Paris Saint-Germain has ruled out midfielder Marco Verratti from its upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against OGC Nice due to injury, the club announced on its official website.
Verratti is still recovering from his right hip bruise injury that he suffered during the late stages of the recent Olympique de Marseille fixture. The Italian went on to also miss PSG’s Coupe de France fixture against Caen as a result.
Verratti has returned to training but will still be kept out of this match as a precaution. It is still to be determined whether he will be available for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg showdown against FC Barcelona next week.
PSG also provided a small update on Rafinha as he will also miss this fixture due to a muscle issue.
There is some good news for PSG regarding its recent injury issues. Keylor Navas (groin) and Ander Herrera (muscle) have each recovered from their respective injuries and will be available to face Nice. This puts the pair on par to also be ready to face Barca next week barring no setbacks.
PSG still remains in third place in the league standings.
