Verratti and Navas Will Miss PSG’s Coupe de France Fixture Against Caen Due to Injury

Paris Saint-Germain will be without midfielder Marco Verratti and goalkeeper Keylor Navas for the team’s Coupe de France knockout stage fixture against Caen, the club announced on its official website.

Verratti came away from PSG’s recent Ligue 1 win against Olympique de Marseille with a slight right hip bruise injury. The Italian midfielder will be unavailable for this match, and it remains to be seen on whether he may be cleared for the team’s next league contest against OGC Nice.

Navas is still dealing with a groin injury that has held him out of PSG’s last couple of league fixtures. Sergio Rico may be in line for yet another start this season in place of Navas.

Mauro Icardi is expected to be a game-time decision for this match due to a right thigh bruise injury.

It will be interesting to see on just what lineup PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has in mind for this mid-week domestic cup match.
