Over the last year, Kylian Mbappé has seen various players such as Erling Haaland come for his title as the best young football player.
Now that might be debatable because everyone, media, pundit, and fan, sees the game differently. However, a study provided by a company with data to back up their claims is a bit more difficult to debate.
According to KPMG Football Benchmark, the capital club forward remains the most expensive player in the world. Despite seeing a €15-million decrease from his transfer value, the 22-year-old’s value remains the highest out of any footballer at €185-million.
Furthermore, there’s a sizable gap between him and the next player on the list, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, whose value sits at €125-million. There’s a €60-million gap even after Mbappé saw a decrease.
Mbappé’s teammate, Neymar Jr., also appears in the top five in this study as the Brazil international’s transfer value is at €115-million and saw a €10-million decrease.
