Report: Bernat Close to Signing a New Contract Extension Deal With PSG

Juan Bernat is now close to reaching a new contract extension agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from RMC Sport.

Bernat’s representatives and PSG officials have been in talks regarding a possible extension deal for the past couple of months. After a period in which the two parties reached a standstill, Bernat is now on the verge of signing a new contract that will prevent him from becoming a free agent over the upcoming summer transfer window.

If the two sides reach an agreement, Bernat will then extend his stay at PSG until 2026.

The Spanish defender has been out of action since the early portion of the season due to an ACL injury. While he is on track to make a return to action next month, Bernat will have immediate competition from both Layvin Kurzawa and Mitchel Bakker out at the left-back position.

Bernat has so far totaled for 74 appearances in all competitions over his current run with PSG.
