La Liga side Sevilla is keeping a keen interest in the situation between Paris Saint-Germain and impending free agent Juan Bernat, as noted by the Spanish-based outlet Estadio Deportivo.
Bernat is still set to become a free agent over the upcoming summer transfer window. However, PSG does not want to see its veteran left-back leave on a free transfer.
One recent report noted that PSG and Bernat’s representatives are currently nearing an agreement that would keep the Spanish defender at the club for another five seasons. The two sides are aiming to agree on this contract extension deal before the start of the summer transfer window.
If Bernat does not end up signing a new contract extension deal, Sevilla would be interested in a potential free transfer deal. As noted by the report, the Spanish side wants to shore up depth at the left-back position, especially as Sergio Escudero is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Bernat currently remains out of action due to an ACL injury but is expected to be back with the team before the season’s end.
