As the 2020-21 season inches closer to its conclusion, Paris Saint-Germain is looking to have their two superstar players locked up to contract extensions.
Neymar Jr.’s deal seems to be imminent as various reports have suggested that both sides have agreed on terms. However, the more difficult of the two was going to be Kylian Mbappé.
With clubs such as Real Madrid lurking, Les Parisiens faced pressure that the 22-year-old could depart, whether this summer or on a free transfer next year. After Mbappé’s hat-trick against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou, plenty of Los Blancos supporters want the France international.
Nonetheless, it appears that both sides could be nearing an extension. According to Foot Mercato, Mbappé has agreed, in principle, to an extension with PSG under certain conditions.
There are some conditions that Mbappé has lined up for the French giants before putting pen to paper. Foot Mercato states that the 22-year-old wants a similar salary to Neymar’s, which would see him earn roughly €3-million monthly.
Furthermore, Mbappé wants control of his departure. The PSG forward doesn’t want to feel as though he’s stuck. Mbappé will extend if the capital club grants him the right to leave when he wishes.
